I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You can find out more about what this means here. I love blogging. I get to share about all the unique books that I get to read. It is a place to share my reviews (and pictures) of my adult coloring books. Now it is a place to share what I am reading, journaling, and studying. Everyone has very different beliefs, which is why I think the world is such an amazing place. It is also why I am not connecting this to my main blog (although I may include bits and pieces now and then). I am still not entirely sure where I plan to go with this. I just know that in the new year I want to focus on my faith a bit more. Also, all opinions are my own. I am not a religious scholar by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just a girl with a blog who loves to read.

Reading Update for Jan 7-13

I think I made my goal a bit more ambitious than I was actually capable of. I did fairly well on the conference talk. I read it through and reviewed it through the week. I also nearly completed my reading goal for the January 2018 Ensign. However, I was too ambitious with my scripture reading goal. I wanted to finish Mosus 1-8 and Genesis 6-8. I only got through Moses 6.

Prior to this week I stopped reading scriptures for about six months. It happened gradually, and then I just never fixed it. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by life that the little (but very important) things slip through.

The same happened this week as well. It is one of my busiest times at work and I stopped doing most the tasks in my habit tracker (including scripture reading) for several days this week. However, in total I read five days out of seven. It is not a completely successful goal. It is better then where I was. Of that I am very happy.

I have been trying to journal while I read. This means that I have not been listening to scriptures on audio at all. I am not sure how I feel about this. I think it is something that I will need to continually revisit.

I like that I am reading the Ensign with Moses. The Old Testament can be a bit dry. Half of chapter 6 is reciting genealogy. It is helpful to counteract that with the messages that are given four our own time, including reading the Ensign, as well as last conference talks.
