It has been a while since I did my first Inside my Kindle from May 2008. I had hoped to read all the books and provide an update. Since that post I have read only one of those books. The book was Twilight. I have really been focusing on new books. I hope to mix in more of my older books with new releases now that I have surpassed my reading goal for the year.
June 2008 was only the second month that I had my Kindle. I was fairly purchase happy, although most of these books were paid books - not Kindle freebies. I have read the greater majority of these books. However, this was two years before I even joined Goodreads. I had not started writing reviews for books yet. I plan to reread them all (at some point) to get them reviewed and on my blog.
If you are interested in a specific book let me know. I can tell you what I remember about the book and push it higher on my reread list.
Books are listed in the order that I purchased them.
I remember when I read the Song of Fire and Ice trilogy. It was before George R.R. Martin started writing more of the books. I actually tried to go back to reread them, but could not get into them the second time. I figured it had to have been the mood and put them aside to go back to them later.
I have no idea why I decided to purchase Julia Spencer-Fleming. I do not really read mysteries. I think they were free and I was still low on books at the time. In 2008 there were not a million free Kindle books listed. I do not think, however, that I ever ended up reading them. I will probably give them a shot and see what I think - at some point.
I vaguely remember Lisa Shearin's series. I have heard more about it since. These books are the ones that I most want to go back and reread. I have reread and reviewed Magic Burns. The last book in the series comes out in just days!!
Have you ever read Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series? I think I stopped reading around book 14. I wonder if I purchased more then just these four books. I think so. It has been a few years, so I do need to re-read. However, it is a bit soured knowing that the series starts repeating the exact same formula over and over again.
Why did I suddenly pick up the fifth book in the Dark-Hunters series? That is a great question that I do not have an answer to. Also, I did not realize my short span of paranormal romance reading started so soon. Sigh. I am going to end up DNF a lot of these past purchase types. There is no plot, and I got frustrated with the genre as a whole. I mostly stuck with Urban Fantasy.
