There were seven new reviews added this week. I caught up on reviewing all of the books that I read this month. I also transferred over one review from the old blog. I need to work on transfering over all of them. A lot of the reviews this week fall under science fiction or urban fantasy. There was also a lot of variety in the ratings this week. Overall, there were a lot of good books to check out.
I had planned on reading eight books, and of those eight books I finished five of them. I didn't exactly stay on list this month. I read some really good books this month, and some really not great books. It was a very varied month. I am surprised that I did not get more reading done this month. I guess there just wasn't as much time with the holidays. I have included Great Expectations in the list. The review is not up yet, I actually still have a few chapters left to read, but it will be finished by the end of this month so I included it in the list.
What did you read this month?
What I Had Scheduled
What I Actually Read
Yesterday I talked a little bit about my plans for the blog. Now I want to talk about my personal reading goals. While they ultimately will affect the blog, these are more focused on what I want to do with my own reading.
Read 100 Books
Every year I put my reading goal at 100 books. This seems to be a very manageable goal to me. Some years I will push it further to 150 books. However, with all the time that I hope to devote to the blog itself I think 100 books is a reasonable goal.
Amazon 100 Books to Read in a Lifetime
This is a goal that I started last year. I managed to read over 50 books last year. This year I am attempting to read another 25 to finish it off officially in 2019. It is an amazing list of books to read, and I do need to finish it. However, I also missed out on so many new books by focusing so heavily on this list last year. Check out the booklist here
2018 Alphabet Challenge
I have also decided to join a 2018 Alphabet Challenge. You can find more details about the challenge here. I have decided to focus this challenge on books that I currently own, but have not read. Twenty six books will make a small dent in this list, but it will make a dent.
Organize My Books
My book organization is an absolute mess. I own so many books that I can not even remember because they got lost in the pages of Kindle books that I own. I am writing an ongoing series about how I am organizing my books this year. I am writing it to help me focus on my own organization. I hope that it will help others with their organizational challenges as well.
