Are You Ready to Take Your O.W.L.s? - Harry Potter Themed Reading Challenge

I semi recently found a new BookTuber - Book Roast. She is a fan of box subscriptions, books, and all things Harry Potter. When she created a Harry Potter themed readathon for April I had to join in. Okay, I do not have to join in. I want to join in. I am excited to join in. You get to take your O.W.L.s allowing you to move forward with your education. Eventually she plans on creating a second challenge that builds on the first.

The best thing about this challenge is that she made it very flexible. There are 12 subjects - all corresponding to the actual O.W.Ls tests that are taken in the Harry Potter books. As long as you try you can reward yourself with a pat on the back. If you finish one O.W.L then you can give yourself a hug. If you finish all 12 then you can walk around knowing that you are equivalent to Hermione Granger. I made up the awards. However, they are all self imposed so you can totally earn them anyway.

I am not entirely sure I will make all 12 categories. However, I aim to try. I definitely will not make it if I do not plan ahead. Thankfully, I have some bing reading days ahead. I mean some vacation days coming next month. It is perfect timing.

What are the categories?
Ancient Runes - Read a book with a symbol on the cover
Arithmancy - Read a book with a number on the cover
Astronomy - Read a science fiction novel
Care of Magical Creatures - Read a book that includes magical creatures or features a magical creature or features a magical creature on the cover
Charms - Read a fantasy book
Defence Against the Dark Arts - Book about/featuring secret societies/clubs
Divination - Reading a book featuring prophesies
Herbology - Read a book with nature related word in the title
History of Magic - Read a historical fiction
Muggle Studies - Read a muggle non-fiction book
Potions - Read a book about/with alchemy
Transfiguration - Read a book that deals with transfiguration/shapeshifting or similar theme or a book with a cat on the cover
I have written my choices in my bullet journal which I keep on my iPad. I will keep posting through April with my update on my progress. I am really excited about this challenge and doing it along with the Book Roast chanel. It is even better since a twitter account was set up specifically for this chanel. You can follow this account here. Also, make sure to use the hashtag #OWLSreadathon2018.

That is a lot of books! I read The Discovery of Witches series and can't wait for the TV show adaptation, curious how they are going to roll with it.

I may not get to all of them, but I will try. I have some time off - which means more time to read. The last time I had time off I ended up reading thirty books in that month. What is twelve in comparison - lol.
