I rarely DNF a book. It drives me crazy to not finish. However, I do find myself trailing off of books and going on to read other books. It is not always because the books are not enjoyable. Sometimes it is just that I am not feeling it at that moment. Other times I stop to focus on another book and then forget to pick the book back up.
Here are nine books that I need to pick back up.
I wanted to keep this list short and only include the books that had the most profound impact on me this year. All of them were good books, and received five star reviews. They were not the only good books I read this year. I read many good books of various ratings. I could have expanded the list out to ten, easily. I decided against it, because while those other books are exceptional they were not truly my favorite. Each one of the books I have included below directly impacted me. While looking back over what I had read I remembered the emotions that I had while reading. I remember the book impacting me after I had finished reading it.
I read a lot of amazing books this year. However, these five are my favorite.
Amazon's 100 Books to Read in a Lifetime is an extremely varied list that has anything from children's picture books, a graphic novel, classics, non fiction, and new litterature.
It was my goal to read as much of the list as I could I think I succeeded, as I read over 50 of the books. This year I will continue to build on reading this list. I probably will not do as many as last year, as my reading demands have increased a fair bit with this blog.
The full list of reviewed (and not yet reviewed) books can be found here. I will be breaking the books down into five book sections. The list was created alphabetically by the first letter in the title. Each section will be fully reviewed, so you can determine if any of the books are a good fit for you. Or, if you are doing the same challenge you can measure if our responses mesh.
This list has a little something for everyone. However, I do recommend that you check out all the books. The wonderful thing about this list is that it exposes you to great literature that you may not have read otherwise. It is my favorite thing about challenging myself to read this list. I may not appreciate every book, but I have gotten something out of each and every one.
I am working on the next installment. I have not as of yet finished reading the next five. As soon as I have. In the meantime if you have read any of these please give your comments below. Fill free to link up your own reviews as well. I would love to check out your thoughts.
Also, remember that we still have a contest running until the end of December!
