Can you believe that February is fast approaching? It will be here in just a week. It is a shorter month, just 28 days, but I am keeping my TBR list the same length. I just do not know how to shorten it. There are so many books that I want to read. There are the authors I am bing reading, the new releases that I am squeezing in, and a list a page long of other authors I want to pick up. While I managed to squeeze in some extra reads in January, I am not so sure about February. Although, three of my books are graphic novels, so that helps.
This month I will be finishing off the rest of Mare Lu's books - that is until she releases Legend book 4. (I am so happy for that.) I have the last two books in The Young Elite series - The Rose Society and The Midnight Star. I also have the three graphic novels for her Legend series. I am not a huge graphic novel series. However, between my own children's reading and other book bloggers I have come to appreciate graphic novels. I aim to read more of them, and what is better then reading the graphic novel version of one of my new favorite series?
I did a Twitter poll a little while ago, and Naomi Novik was the winner for my next bing read author. It took a little longer then expected, as I did not finish Mark Lawrence until last month. I will be doing another Twitter poll in March to pick my next bing author, so look out for that. I currently have an entire page of just author names. I will have to narrow this list down before I post it. I am excited to read Naomi Novik. Maybe I should say finish reading Naomi Novik. I have already started Spinning Silver. I put it down, not for any good reason either. I am loving the book. Ironically enough, I purchased His Majesty's Dragon when it was a debut Kindle novel. I got it for free. Yet, I have never read it. Many years later I am finally getting around to it. I only have three books of her's listed for this month. March will feature much more.
With the beginning of the new year I am going to try doing a monthly to be read list again. I ended up stoping the middle of last year and just planning five books ahead. However, this year I want to bing read more authors - meaning I want to read the complete list of more authors. I also have an amazing book planner from OwlCrate that will hopefully keep me more focused, on my reading and managing my blog.
I noticed that in 2018 I stopped reading as much non-fiction. I love non-fiction books. While they may not be as popular they are very stimulating. I have made it a goal to add one non-fiction book to my TBR list each month. I have also decided to give me a freebie book. This is a book that I want to read without bing reading the entire author’s work. The rest will be bing reads or debut authors. I have been doing something similar to this for about two months now and I really enjoy it. I will, of course, break from this when there is a readathon. I will use that time to read all the books that I have been collecting in the meantime.

by Mark Lawrence
How am I still reading Mark Lawrence? Oh yes, he is releasing books as fast as I am reading them. Not quite, but close enough. Since I started bing reading Lawrence he has released Bound - a short story in his Book of The Ancestors series. He also has four books realeasing in 2019. Yes - FOUR BOOKS! I actually paused reading his books for a reading challenge. I am excited to get back into The Red Queen’s war trilogy. I am also excited for another jaunt with The Book of the Ancestor’s world.
Here are the next five books on my TBR list. I write out my TBR in lists of five as I tend to deviate from book lists pretty easy. Another shiny cover catches my attention and I pick it up rather than what I had panned. I find if I plan five books at a time then I mostly finish them before moving on. Sometimes a book takes a bit longer, but overall it works out. All but one of my books on the list are science fiction/fantasy. It should be some good reading.
