I have been using a "bullet" journal for many years now. I started with paper and then moved over to using an iPad exclusively. I started by using Notability, but I moved over to GoodNotes shortly after. I love how GoodNotes uses specific journals and allows me to organize them.
I create a new journal every month. This allows me to not get bored and allows me to make edits for changes for things that did not work the month before. I create the journal in Keynote on my iPad and then transfer it over to GoodNotes for use.
These pictures were taken from the document in Keynote.
The first page in my bullet journal is a 2018 monthly calendar. I downloaded this page (and most of the other) from Scattered Squirrel. This is to help me for future planing to help me know when a date is. I can also write notes in it. Although, for actual future appointments I usually put them in my phone calendar.
I placed the pages onto a matching background. The pages are lined up side by side with a spiral in the middle to mimic a paper binder. I did not create tabs for this month. Mostly it is because this is a brand new planner I am creating and I did not have time to finish it. I already miss the tabs.
I have put an index on the second page. Next to this I have put a month overview page. This is a way to plan for goals and an monthly overview. I cannot remember where I found this page. When I do I will post it here.
Next I have the monthly budget that is also by Scattered Squirrel. I think I will recreate my own next month. This does not quite have what I need. I left the right page blank so I can use it to plan and keep tally. I may make this a lined page next month.
I am also working on paying of debt and creating a savings account. I find the visual way of keeping track to be helpful in making me keep going towards my goal. Since I do monthly journals I do have to update them every month instead of keeping using the same page. It is a trade off, but one I do not mind.
Next I have my daily pages. The sheet is also from Scattered Squirrel. I pre-number them before I save them to a pdf. This is the first time I have used these daily pages. I created my own last month, but I was bored with them. I searched through a lot of daily pages to find the one that I thought would be the most useful for my needs.
Next I have added Journal pages. The first is an index that I will create as I add the days to the page. They will not be linked this way, but it will be useful when I am going back to look at the pages.
I also have another collection of Notes pages. It looks just like my journal pages. I use the notes pages mostly for my work meetings. However, they are also useful for personal notes.
I hope that you enjoy looking at my digital journal. I will show you my setup again next month.
